A competition brought by the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Center (TIEC) and Microsoft to support Egyptian startups to scale and
grow their business
The initiative focuses on 4 main technology tracks related to :
Azure IOT Suite
Applications (Xamarin.Android and Xamarin.iOS)
3-Open Source Web Development (PHP/Node.js)
Web Apps (Azure App Service)
Azure-Backed Bots using Azure
Cognitive Services especially Language Understanding Intelligent Service API.
Benefits & Prizes
1- Seed fund from Microsoft of 90,000 EGP for each of 5 winning teams.
2- Acceleration program at TIEC for 2 and half months.
*Teams will be provided either an Acceleration Program at TIEC or
consultancy sessions in the Areas of Marketing, Digital Marketing,
Finance & Technical (The number of sessions will be determined by the
- Privately-owned Egyptian Startups actively engaged in development of a
software-based product or service in the above mentioned technologies.
- Startups less than 5 years old.

- Be registered on Egypt’s Startup Map
- Innovative solution is in the Prototype stage.
- Solution Running on Azure: Solution has to be hosted on Microsoft Azure.

there will be judges from Microsoft along with TIEC and other partners to
help participants understand that Microsoft would judge the contest
-Innovation: The idea of the project must be original, new and
an advancement to any of the solutions readily available in the marketplace or
-Does the app have a clear target market or audience?
-Does the app address a clear need, problem, or opportunity and is the solution
clearly explained? Solving a real problem: The project has to
offer a real solution for an existing need or problem in the society; traffic,
healthcare, education, etc
-Is the project easy to use? |
-Does the project perform well and respond crisply to input?

-Does the project follow the design guidelines of its platforms?
-Does the project make effective and appropriate use of the major features of
-Does the project include innovations in technical design and/or implementation?
